Sunday Youth Program
Every Sunday from 9am to 12pm, Ms. Kiry Tham meets at Wat Willow to teach the Khmer language to children and youth of all ages. With the assistance of volunteer teachers, she focuses on teaching them the Khmer script. For most Cambodians growing up in Long Beach, this is the only opportunity they have to receive formal instruction in their native language. Given the high illiteracy levels among the Cambodian population, both in Cambodian (Khmer) and English, this is a great service to improve the education of the community.
